Implementing an efficient CCTV system can be a complex process. Speak to EasyCCTV and take advantage of our expertise to make the right choice. We take time to understand your requirements in detail, and if necessary perform a full onsite survey.
CCTV systems have a wide variety of functions and options, and this can affect the cost of the solution greatly. By running through our free planning guide on the support page we can help you decide which facilities are essential and which are optional to your solution.
Today’s CCTV systems can be broadly categorised into two main types; Hybrid and IP. For most clients the choice of system is governed by a combination of functional requirements and financial constraints, rather than just technology differences.
Hybrid Systems
If you need a reliable feature rich system, but don’t need all of the benefits of a pure IP Video solution then maybe a hybrid system is for you. A hybrid video system uses analogue cameras connected to a Digital Video Recorder(DVR). Hybrid solutions are cheaper than pure IP Video solutions because analogue cameras are less complex, and therefore less costly than IP cameras.
Analogue cameras don’t have the high resolutions afforded by Megapixel IP cameras and they don’t utilise the standard structured network cabling that is already present in many buildings. For many applications this isn’t an issue and the cost savings associated are the deciding factor.
In common with pure IP video systems, hybrid systems allow the viewing of video from anywhere in your network, or remotely over the Internet.
Pure IP Video Systems
If you are installing a CCTV system for the first time you now have two predominant choices. Use either a hybrid DVR based solution or a pure IP based system (NVR). An IP based CCTV system will offer you future proofing, the best in image quality, expandability, management, and functionality.
Benefits of IP CCTV Systems
- Recorded video easily manipulated to extract events
- Better quality of recorded video
- Variable number of day’s video recorded
- Easy remote access from your network, over the internet, or via 3G phone
- Email images or video clips
- Burn video to CD/DVD
- Use with Windows, Mac, or Linux
